1. Start with the exact recording mode
The phrase 4K describes image dimensions, not storage demand. Codec, frame rate, bit depth, chroma sampling, Long GOP versus All-Intra compression, and simultaneous proxy recording can move the bitrate dramatically.
Open the camera manual or recording-time chart and find the data rate and required card class for the exact menu option. A generic '4K ready' package claim is weaker evidence than the camera maker's current requirement.
2. Use Video Speed Class as the first filter
Video Speed Class communicates assured minimum sequential writing. V30 represents 30 MB/s, V60 represents 60 MB/s, and V90 represents 90 MB/s under the standard's conditions. Match the symbol named by the camera or choose a higher compatible class.
U3 and V30 both use a 30 MB/s figure but belong to different access methods. Follow the marking specified by the host rather than assuming equal numbers are interchangeable in every device.
