When faster media matters
Everyday recommendation
V60 SDXC or CFexpress Type A VPG200 for many 4K modes through 280 Mbps; V30 covers listed 200 Mbps settings.
Demanding recommendation
V90 SDXC or CFexpress Type A VPG200, with Type A required for selected highest-rate slow-motion modes.
XAVC S-I 4K at 600 Mbps uses V90 or VPG200; 1200 Mbps slow motion requires CFexpress Type A VPG200.

Capacity
Sony lists SD/SDHC/SDXC and CFexpress Type A. Choose capacity from the selected bitrate and desired record time.
Reader
Use the matching UHS-II SD or CFexpress Type A reader; Type B media and readers are physically different.
Three checks worth making
- Selected S&Q settings require Type A even when normal-speed recording works on SD.
- Proxy recording can raise the requirement.
- Match file systems for dual-card movie recording.
