When faster media matters
Everyday recommendation
U3/V30 SDXC for XAVC HS 4K or XAVC S 4K modes up to 200 Mbps.
Demanding recommendation
SDXC V90 or CFexpress Type A VPG200 or higher.
XAVC S-I 4K at up to 600 Mbps requires V90 SDXC or CFexpress Type A VPG200 or higher.

Capacity
Sony lists SD/SDHC/SDXC and CFexpress Type A support. Confirm the current approved-media guidance for the exact capacity before a critical job.
Reader
Use a UHS-II SD reader for SD cards or a dedicated CFexpress Type A reader; Type B readers are physically different.
Three checks worth making
- Only Slot 1 accepts CFexpress Type A.
- A UHS-II card falls back in a UHS-I reader.
- Match both cards when using simultaneous movie recording.
