When faster media matters
U3 SD or CFexpress/XQD rated at least 45 MB/s for ordinary video recording and playback under Nikon's guidance.
A Nikon-listed CFexpress Type B card for N-RAW 12-bit or ProRes RAW HQ 12-bit; 250 MB/s-class media is advised for high frame sizes or rates.
Use Nikon's current approved CFexpress list when recording N-RAW or ProRes RAW HQ rather than relying on a peak speed alone.

Choose CFexpress Type B/XQD reader compatibility carefully; use a UHS-II reader for the SD slot.

- XQD and CFexpress Type B share a slot but use different standards.
- RAW video should use a specifically recommended CFexpress model.
